MiPOW POWER TUBE 2200: Charger

MiPOW POWER TUBE 2200: Charger
MiPow Power Tube 2200 is an externallithium-ion battery pack that can charge your iPhone and a host of other small gadgets like cellphones and handheld game devices.

Specs:
Cell type: lithium-ion battery
Capacity: 2200mAh
Output voltage and current: 5V and 500mA

The capacity of this charger is  2200mAh. The charger has a round battery like shape. It is suitable for most phones such as iPhone, GALAXY SII , HTC Sensation XL and iPod.

The tip of the round charger bottom has two uses. Its primary function is as the connector for your phone and second as indicator if it is fully charge. When it is not fully charged the charger has a red glow. When it is fully charged, it  indicate the color blue.
The Power Tube 2200 comes with 10 different adapters, 1 iDevices cable, 1 charging USB cable and 1 connector. So you can charge your iDevices,  LG, and Sony Ericsson phones (yes, you can charge your T68i with this!). Blackberry, HTC, Motorola, LG, Samsung, PSP, Nokia, Nintendo DSL, DSi, 3DS.

The power output is equal to what you get from a USB 2.0 port on a modern computer, so you can use it with the gadgets you regularly plug into your computer’s USB port for charging.

It comes with a carrying pouch so you can carry it easily without falling any of the other adaptor.

Cons
  • Very slow charging.  It is better if you'll just charge your gadget overnight to make sure its fully charged when you leave your house.
  • The initial charging period took about 4 hours. You use what looks like a USB-to-audio cable for charging, plugging the “audio” tip into the Power Tube and the USB tip into a computer or a powered USB hub.
  • MiPow does not have a capacity indicator, leaving you to wonder how much capacity is left after charging a device or two.

Pros

  • Small, easy to carry charger.
  • Once fully charged, you can then use the Power Tube 2200 to charge your gadgets. It can help you charge your gadget just in case your battery got depleted. No need for you to hunt down an outlet when you need to recharge.
  • The Power Tube should be good for at least one full charge.
Overall, the Power Tube is a handy, nice-looking external charger for small devices. Better than no back up.
